January
  • Nathan Trice:  Nathan is also teaching a $10 2 hour evening class at La Guardia High School for the Arts 6-8 pm Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from January 18th-29th. 
  • Jennifer Archibald: Jennifer returns to teach at Dance New Amsterdam on January 25th from 4-5:30 pm Monday and Friday.  Also be sure to check out her hip hop classes in the evenings on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, along with a Saturday hour long class.
February
  • DDC Teach/Talk with Nathan Trice: February 27th, 3-6pm at LaGuardia High School for the Arts. More information to come!
  • Kyle Abraham: Kyle will be teaching at 100 Grand 10-12pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, February 8-18th.  Kyle also has a show, The Radio Show, going up at Danspace Project, February 25-27th at 8pm.
  • Nathan Trice: Nathan Trice is teaching class at Dance New Amsterdam as a guest artist from 2-4 pm on Feb. 9th, 11th, 15th, 17th, 19th, 23rd, and 25th.
  • Faye Driscoll: Faye will be teaching at Dance New Amsterdam for 5 days on the 16th, 18th, 22nd, 24th, and 26th of February.  Faye will also be in residence at the Joyce Soho with open showings.  Check back for more details in February!

Jennifer Archibald founder and artistic director of the Arch Dance Company, graduated from The Ailey School and has performed across the U.S. at major venues; John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Aaron Davis Hall, Lincoln Theatre, New World Theatre, The Duke on 42nd Street Theatre, Abron arts Centre, Judson Memorial Church, MTV, as well as in Europe, Russia and Canada.  She has staged various off-Broadway shows, choreographed for both the NBA New York Knicks City Dancers and The Ailey School.  She has worked with chart listed singers and actors including Audrey Tautou, as a movement specialist and a choreographer. In the summer of 2007 her work was featured outdoors in the heart of Time Square for the Solstice Dance Festival.  She is a recipient of the "Talk of The Arts" award granted by University of San Francisco and was presented by Bates Dance Festival in Different Voices in 2008.

Nathan Trice is the Artistic Director/Founder of nathantrice/RITUALS project-by-project dance theater based in New York City.  The company was founded in 1998 and consists of a nucleus of multi-talented artists with diverse backgrounds of expression.  The collaborative mission of the artists is to  create work that serve those who seek the reflective importance of being human through art, in a Visual Audio Sensory Theatrical (VAST) performance.

Thang Dao was born in Danang, Vietnam and currently resides in New York City as a dancer and choreographer. Dao received his formal dance education from the Juilliard School and The Boston Conservatory. Dao holds a BFA in dance from The Boston Conservatory and an MA from New York University. Dao has presented his works in Boston, New York City, and Austin with acclaimed reviews by The Boston Globe, Austin 360 and The New York Times. In 2006, his ballet Stepping Ground, choreographed on Ballet Austin for the 1st Biannual New American Dance Talent, received the Audience Choice Award on all four nights. Dao is also the recipient of the 2008 Princess Grace Choreography Fellowship. This fall, Ailey II will tour with Dao's "Echoes," a piece recently commissioned by the Boston Conservatory. He will also return to Austin in the spring to work with Ballet Austin II and the city's Vietnames community on a Special Project granted by the Princess Grace Foundation. Ballet X has also commissioned Dao for a new work next spring.

Kevin Irving began dancing in his hometown of Long Island, then continuing with the ensemble of Alvin Ailey.  From 1982-1985 he was a soloist with The Elisa Monte Dance Company of New York but at the age of 24 he joined Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, in Montreal.  Upon leaving LGBC in 1993, Kevin joined Twyla Tharp Dance for a project that included performances at L’Opera de Paris and the television film of “In The Upper Room”.

In 1994, Kevin retired from the stage in order to take a position as ballet master with Nacho Duato’s Compañia Nacional de Danza in Madrid, Spain.  Over the course of eight seasons in Madrid Irving worked side by side with the acclaimed Spanish choreographer. From 2002- 2007 Kevin Irving was artistic director of The Göteborg Ballet in western Sweden.

After five successful years in Sweden, Kevin is now based in the US and is a freelance teacher as well as guest ballet master with The Royal Danish Ballet. Through his relationship with Nacho Duato, Kevin has had the opportunity to stage and re-mount numerous works on companies around the world, including Nederlands Dans Theater, The Australian Ballet and The Royal Ballet Covent Garden.
